Welcome to
Radical Change Pilates & Wellness
We are an urban sanctuary of calm in the middle of Banker’s Hill. A space where you can connect to mind, body, breath and movement—and change your life—one 50-minute Pilates class at a time. Really, we’re like a cult. But since that’s frowned upon, we’ll settle for calling ourselves a wellness studio.
We are a STOTT equipped studio. Our approach to the movement practice is our radical own. The only way to know if it’s your vibe is to take a few classes with our instructors.
If you can’t give yourself that much effort, then what are you doing?
What We’re About
Pilates is more than reformer
Joseph Pilates created a beautiful repertoire of movement that he originally called Contrology. He believed that his principles of movements were the cure for bodies that lived and moved in this modern world of desk sitting and being behind the wheel. We wholeheartedly agree! With these movements eventually came equipment that made the movements accessible to a wide range of people.
The work that began with rehabbing WW1 soldiers has now been used to help millions of people around the world to live better in their bodies. Here at Radical Change, we offer small group pilates classes using the Tower, Mat, Reformer, Spine Corrector and Stability Chair, as well as small equipment that allows us to rehabilitate and strengthen the bodies we work with on a daily basis.
If you’ve only experienced the Reformer, you haven’t really allowed the pilates experience to change your life. We take a body-centered approach to this movement practice. Our focus is you. We laugh. We connect. We educate. And we change lives!
Come take a class and see how we do Pilates!
Welcome to our studio
Welcome to our studio
We can’t wait to meet you and we want you to experience pilates positively!
We have many options to discover and enjoy the way we teach pilates.
The Community Pilates Class, $15, is taught by our teachers-in-training and allows you a chance to experience how our studio can help you (re)discover our somatic approach to pilates. This class also gives an opportunity to graduates of our pilates teacher training program to gain necessary experience in their chosen field. Make no mistake, though, the class will challenge your body and mind, if you don’t have a regular practice. And if you find it what you know that you need, we’re here to support your success.
Pilates is lifetime movement! We’ve been in the body business since 1992. We love what we do and we know it works because we live what we teach!

WHAT DO OUR STUDENTS/CLIENTS SAY ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE HERE…

-
First, welcome to our studio and we hope that you love the way we pilates!
Doing a 1:1 session is always the best way to experience our studio for the first time. Our rates start at $140 per 50-minute session with our instructors and $265 for the Introductory 1:1 90-minute session with our studio director. This is the time to share what you need from pilates and allows your instructor to introduce you to the beautiful world of somatic pilates and how it works for any body. Literally, any type of body.
If your budget doesn’t allow for private sessions, no worries! We’ve created Radical Reformer 101 just for you. Offered Mondays at 4pm and two Fridays a month at 5pm (check the schedule). For first time students, Sexy Yummy Spine™️, Restorative Pilates, Evening Deep Stretch or any Sunday class with Natasha is an excellent alternative.
Any questions? Call Andrea at 619.522.0026 and she’s happy to answer your specific questions and get you on the schedule.

Our group classes are 50-minutes long. Wear something that you’re comfortable in.
Leggings, sweatpants, shorts, pants that flow but aren’t flowy. Long pants should gather at the ankle so that the loose fabric doesn’t get caught in the springs.
Tops should be supportive and layers are a smart option, as some classes are definitely going to warm you up and we don’t want you to pass out.
Be sure to eat something simple at least 45 minutes before class time and bring a water bottle; we don’t have cups however, we do have a filtered water station.

Pilates has a reputation for being expensive and only for skinny white folks. This isn’t that kind of place. Radical Change Pilates & Wellness is owned by a 50+ year old black woman and a 65+ year old white man and we believe in equity and the power of movement in wellness. We don’t care what you weigh, your gender, your race, who you sleep with or love. And if you voted for hatred, keep it to yourself.
We smoke the front doors with sage and palo santo, wear crystals, and have rocks and crystals scattered throughout the studio.
We hold new moon rituals and believe in the abundance of the universe.
We believe in sharing our knowledge and experience to help others become healthy and well.
If you need your pilates with a dash of elitism and high school drama, look elsewhere. If you desire a place to help you be strong for life in every season of your life, we’re happy to serve you!
